Last week gave us all a huge taste of spring. The snow was melting, the sun was out, and there were even a couple afternoons you could comfortably be outside in a tee shirt. Spring fever was abundant everywhere you went. Then, like it does so often in Montana, winter returned. The snow is back, the temps are again below the freezing mark, and the snowflake hatch is the only one we are experiencing right now.
Great fishing was had by many last week and it has us all dreaming of warmer days to come. Even my yellow lab, Riley is tired of fishing with the snowman! But, there is much good that comes from the spring snows. It gives us that much needed time released water for the rest of the season. So today instead of wishing away the snow I will tie up some flies instead. Plus the weatherman just told me Wednesday is going to be 55…. Do you believe him?
