Even though rivers are on the rise in Western Montana with the recent warm up, my wife and I decided to grab the dogs and go out and see if the fish were still willing to bite. We managed a half dozen or so throughout the day, but having the river all to ourselves was priceless! Typically the fishing can be less then stellar when rivers are on the way up but if you can find the soft spots, you can usually find a fish who is willing to eat! We did just that yesterday and we could not have asked for a nicer day. The dogs got to play in the water, we got to fish, and not another boat in site all day long. Not a bad day in my book at all.
Watch for those flows to drop again this weekend with the cooler weather and when they do be prepared for more happy times!
