Yesterday I had the privilege of fishing with Tom Logan of the Red Lions Project. http://www.redlionusmcproject.com/ Tom lost his his son to the war in Afghanistan. Along with his son, Joey, five others were lost that day when the helicopter they were flying in went down. I can’t imagine a more horrible thing for a parent to go through. The pain of that loss would sting forever, but Tom wants to honor those fallen soldiers by building a retreat in their honor where soldiers can go to escape and heal with their families. His son’s dream was to own property in Montana someday and Tom and his wife Debi made that dream come true. They now want to build the retreat on this property and turn something tragic into something good.
Tom shared a lot of great stories with me on the river yesterday and they all make me want to do what I can to help. So, I am spreading the word and would encourage all to do the same, so we can help Tom get this project up and running sooner than later! The website is listed above. Send it to everyone you know.
