A while back, Kettlehouse Brewing Company held a fundraiser to raise money for one of their employees who was in a battle with cancer. And though I have never met Tammy Dubois in person I felt as though I needed to do something to help, so I donated a guided fishing trip for them to raffle off. The head brewer for the Kettlehouse, Paul Roys, wanted to do what he could to help Tammy as well, so he bought a bunch of raffle tickets and ended up winning the guided fishing trip!
Fast forward a couple months and that trip finally happened and I took out Paul and his father Steve for a day of fishing on the Blackfoot River. It was a hot and sunny day, but for most of the day we had the river almost to ourselves. The fishing wasn’t exactly white hot, but we did manage some fish to the boat and had a great day, with great conversation, bald eagles watching us eat, and Double Haul IPA! Steve found out that fish can be very hard to hold as you can see from the one shot below. He did manage to catch the fish of the day though, so I offered up a helping hand to get a picture for bragging rights.
Thanks Paul and Steve for sharing the love and helping out Tammy! And thanks for letting me share a day with you guys on the river. Cheers!
