In Montana we are very spoiled. There is so much great water to fish a person could spend a lifetime trying to fish it all. Yet it seems we can get in a rut and fish the same waters over and over again out of convenience. Well last week I got the opportunity for a change of scenery and guided on one of my favorite Montana rivers, The Ruby. The 3 gentlemen I guided were not only good anglers, but great guys to hang out with for a couple of days on a beautiful river. Lots of fish were caught over the couple of days, but the thing I will remember the most is the smiles! Fly fishing takes us to beautiful places and creates a bond among friends that can never be broken.
Get out of your rut and go and explore this great state. You will be glad you did!
